The King Montezuma Trilogy: The God Story: An Empire and a Diamond: Book 1
About
Step into the world of monotheism, where sacred history reads like a sweeping novel. In this vivid reimagining of the Hebrew Scriptures, the epic storytelling honors the spirit of the original texts with a unique fusion of scripture and narrative fiction. These timeless stories were inspired by the original Jewish texts, and set against the richly imagined world of pre-Columbian Mesoamerica. Experience the Old Testament as never before, whether rediscovering familiar scriptures or exploring for the first time. In Book 1, a Mexican guide tells stories to Jameson and his dad, as they travel through Guatemala and Mexico, hearing about the forming of God’s People and settling into the Promised Land. King Montezuma reluctantly unites the Empire, which ultimately falls to Cortes and his Conquistadors. In Book 2, Jameson and his father travel to Monterrey, where his father tells the stories of the shamans who prophetically warn of the coming troubles. The Northern Empire succumbs to the drug cartel, and the Southern Empire is exiled to Spain. After the exile, more shamans work to inspire the Mexicans as they rebuild Tenochtitlan. In Book 3, Jameson and his father travel around Arizona to experience the scriptures in yet another way. They explore the Psalms with the father teaching a one-day seminar at the Poetry Center in Tucson, and enjoy discussing wisdom with café customers in Tubac. The father then teaches a short class at the Nature Conservancy in Phoenix, to bring the stories of Daniel alive, and finally travels to Flagstaff to hear a docent at the Aztec Synagogue explain the five books of the Megillot. Together they become “The King Montezuma Trilogy.” It is Book 1 in “The God Story: An Empire and a Diamond,” and Book 2 is “The Jim Caldwell Trilogy,” about the New Testament.
