God’s Bridge Over a Broken World

About

This book seeks to grow appreciation for monotheism. Coming from a Christian background, the author argues that the complete story moves sequentially from Judaism to Christianity to Islam. The sacred texts of the TANAKH, the New Testament, and the Qur’an are explored for their unity, using the metaphor of a bridge. Starting with an interview with an Imam, the author deals with the divisive issue of land, then interviews a young Palestinian Muslim. Next the author explores Quranic passages of good news and bad news, then deals with more divisive issues and their possible solutions. The bridge connects Mount Sinai (the first revelation), Jerusalem (the second revelation), and Mecca (the third revelation), to find the full story of God and God’s relationship with humanity. Offering a vision of how to realize this, the author then celebrates our unity and helps to appreciate our individuality.
